My daughter is 2.5 weeks old and when she was 4 days old I did a frantic and desperate google search of lactation consultants. Quite frankly I called or texted every one I could find and Candice J was not only the first to respond, but could see me the next day and had an amazingly calming phone presence that I desperately needed while my daughter was screaming in the background! Even in that initial phone conversation she made me feel better, like I wasn't the breastfeeding failure I was considering myself, she supported and advised me before she'd even met me! She came the very next day to help, and was with us for over 2 hours. She is basically a breastfeeding doctor, she explained the science and practice of breastfeeding in ways I'd never heard and I understood it so much better just for that. She then helped my daughter latch, and gave me the tips and advice on how to continue our feeding journey. My daughter had been in the NICU for 2 days and had formula in bottles and then my pumped milk in bottles and would just scream when offered the breast. This of course devastated and stressed me out to no end but she remained calm and steady and so helpful I could cry tears of gratitude just thinking about it! By the time she left I was breastfeeding successfully and calmly for the first time. We had a couple latch issues after that and would text Candice and send her videos of the latch and she would text back or call back within minutes. There hasn't really been a day since that we haven't been in contact. Either a question from me or her checking in on us. She is truly a part of our breastfeeding journey, and honestly is the main reason we HAVE a healthy breastfeeding journey! Her tips and suggestions not only help me feed my daughter, but keep me calm and grounded and in control so that I can be the best for myself and my daughter. I have recommended her to 2 friends now, one across the country and one locally. She has been able to help both and am so happy to have her in my life and be able to have her help my friends! Breastfeeding is so much more than I ever realized, and Candice makes it so doable and makes me feel like I am not alone and supported in every way. I cannot thank you enough Candice!!
After struggling with breastfeeding for over 8 months, I almost felt like a failure. I was in so much pain I just wanted to give up...I did so much research, visited multiple doctors, and even another lactation consultant. What else was I missing? There's no way any one else could tell me something I didn't already know. At least that's what I thought. I was visiting in the LA area and just had to try one last option before I gave up breast feeding for good. I did some quick research and contacted goldilacts, got contacted the same day I reached out to them, and Candice was absolutely amazing. The compassion you receive from these girls is just amazing! If you are in my position, trust me, you are not alone and the girls at goldilacts will lovingly confirm that with you. Candice immediately noticed what was wrong by taking just one look at my baby's latch and corrected it. Within 10 seconds, I'm not exaggerating, latch was corrected and breastfeeding immediately became the easiest thing in the world. I finally was able to peacefully feed my baby with zero stress or discomfort. Thank you guys so much for your help my baby and I will forever be thankful!!!! If you've reached every dead end with nursing your baby, PLEASE contact goldilacts!!!
